With the award of its
Royal Warrant in 1913 Pilkington's fame for lustre ware was
at its peak.
However for many collectors it is not lustre ware
that defines Pilkington's - it is glaze effects.
There were many glaze effects. Those shown here
belong to a category of feathered and streaky glaze effects.
The yellow vase is unusual. The sample roundels even
more so.
